ABOUT US

Wandering Sage began as an adventure into the Peruvian Andes with my family. The glacial valleys, llamas and native people inspired us to fall in love with the textures that today comprise the Wandering Sage Collection. Starting new partnerships in Peru with family-owned businesses, we have a fresh focus and a fantastic opportunity to create new fashions. Wandering Sage is dedicated to searching for a balance between people, partnerships and living in harmony with nature, creating a sustainable lifestyle for present and future generations. All of our products reflect a commitment to:

ecology and elegance: The finest goods that uniquely fuse exceptional quality and design with eco sensitivity, created by passionate designers and artisans.

eco- friendly and sustainable sources: The purest and most planet-friendly natural ingredients possible.

earth and people friendly partnerships: Partners and suppliers who share our values and work to make a positive difference in the world.

About our partners

Our Peruvian partners who make our designs are lifelong artisans, like their mothers and grandmothers before them, immersed in an ancient Andean textile tradition. Hand embroidery, crochet and knitting blends in beautifully with daily life in the Andes. Skilled hand knitters can earn an income working and still watching over their children at home. As such, hand knitting helps women to remain in their native villages, giving them access to cash needed for children's school books, food and medicine. Hand knitting is not only an art form in Peru but also contributes to the preservation of native culture. We strongly believe in economic opportunities for women in Peru.

WS is privileged to work closely with some of the finest traditional artisans. Furthermore, we strive to work with those vendors that ensure only the best working conditions for their employees. We do not associate with vendors who use child labor or permit poor working conditions. We know the owners of these businesses personally, and as a company, we strive to do business with them in a fair and respectful manner. Our business ventures in South America have deepened our appreciation for the wonderful people who live there, as well as for the incredible arts of Peru that provide us with so much design inspiration.

We hope that you will join us in celebrating the wonderful history and culture of the Andes, brought to us by those artisans who put their hearts and souls into every stitch.

Best wishes,
Wandering Sage
